05 - Lay a slice of cheese on top of two patties during the final minute of cooking and allow to melt completely.
06 - Stack one cheese-topped patty with a plain patty, cheese side facing down, to create two double-patty stacks with cheese sandwiched between.
07 - Add optional toppings including pickles, tomato, grilled onion, and lettuce between the patties if desired.
08 - Serve immediately while hot and cheese is melted.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The cheese gets sandwiched between patties creating an incredibly gooey center that never slides off
  • Perfect for when you want all the burger satisfaction without the bread getting in the way
02 -
  • Don't press down on the patties while they cook or you'll lose all those precious juices that make these incredible
  • The cheese needs to go on during the very last minute or it will melt completely away instead of staying put between the patties
03 -
  • Take the ground beef out of the fridge about 20 minutes before forming patties, it helps them cook more evenly
  • If your cheese isn't melting well, tent the pan with foil for 30 seconds to trap the heat
